In spring 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic forced lockdowns of businesses, schools, towns and cities nationwide, we mobilized Right To Play — an online community to help keep kids and adults physically active, mentally stimulated and socially engaged — despite social distancing measures.

But there was an even bigger need to address. In Canada, COVID-19 disproportionately affects children and families in Indigenous communities that experience limited access to health and mental health services. Knowing social isolation would deepen mental health and well-being impacts to Indigenous children and youth, we jumped to action — raising funds to increase support of our Promoting Life-Skills in Indigenous Youth (PLAY) program active in more than 85 Indigenous communities across the country.

With this goal in mind, we launched Play it Forward: A 14-day virtual challenge to keep kids, adults, families and corporate teams connected, active and having fun during lockdown. To improve the chance of success, we needed corporate support and were thrilled when TransUnion stepped up to become the challenge’s Presenting Sponsor.

Already a Power 10 Member, TransUnion has committed $300,000 to protect and educate children worldwide through various Right To Play programs. Through this partnership, we were able to engage 204 participants in our Play it Forward challenge which reached over 750,000 thousand people and raised more than $60,000 to support our COVID-19 response effort.

TransUnion is committed to giving back to communities and helping create brighter futures among vulnerable populations by advancing financial inclusion, education and child protection.

“We’re proud to have partnered with Right To Play over the past three years to help thousands of children build confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and learn how to defend their rights and resist exploitation and abuse by adults and peers.” - Todd Skinner, Regional President Canada, Latin America, and Caribbean.

Thank you, TransUnion, for your support!
